Release can be daunting, and you may not know where to start who to speak with? UNSHACKLE can help you create the support network and lifestyle skills needed to re adjust into the local community.

According to the national audit office on mental health in prisons, the government is not aware of the number of prisoners with mental health issues or whether it is achieving its objectives in supporting these individuals.

In 2016 there were 40,161 incidents of self-harm in prisons and 120 self-inflicted deaths.

The prisons ombudsman found that 70% of prisoners who had committed suicide between 2012 and 2014 had mental health issues.
